Building my path in marketing

Hey! I'm Colin — a marketing student at Montclair State University in New Jersey. I'm passionate about digital marketing, social media strategy, and building brands that actually connect with people.
Through my coursework and projects, I've developed hands-on skills in content creation, email marketing, media planning, and audience research. I love figuring out what makes people tick and turning that into campaigns that get real results.

This isn't just a job to me — it's the first step toward something bigger. I want to understand addiction recovery from the ground level so that someday I can build solutions that actually work. You can't solve a problem you don't deeply understand.

My marketing skills and entrepreneurial mindset aren't separate from this path — they're part of it. Hands-on experience in recovery work, combined with marketing strategy and branding know-how, is how I plan to build something meaningful in this space.

Projects that show what I can do
These three projects span different industries and marketing channels — from a children's app to clean beauty to horror film marketing.

Slumby App
A children's bedtime and sleep aid app that uses calming stories and audio to help little kids fall asleep. The campaign centers on a heartwarming "Mama Bear and cubs" story — positioning the app as the modern parent's secret weapon against bedtime battles.
What I Improved
Refined the target audience to focus specifically on first-time parents aged 20–26
Improved the social media strategy with platform-specific content for Instagram and TikTok
Added more engaging content like a three-act animated short concept with a Mama Bear narrative
Created a detailed 30-second TikTok script with exact timestamps and trending audio hooks
Included a thoughtful reflection on AI usage — what it helped with and where it fell short
Skills Demonstrated
"Because bedtime isn't just about sleep... It's about peace."
